Hothouse Flowers
I am intrigued by the sculptural qualities of certain flowers, when their petals create interesting abstract shapes. Examining them so closely reveals a subtle variation of colour and results in a palette of great richness and intensity. The textural background is created by one of my wallpapers, against which I photograph the flowers, which I then manipulate on my computer to soften the outlines and emphasise the colours. I enlarge them hugely and print them digitally to create this dramatic effect.
